Our History and BeliefsPreparing leaders that bring hope to the world
Pine Harbor Christian Academy is a ministry of The Harbor Church (formerly Jubilee Christian Center). Our school has been educating the southeast Twin Cities metro area since 1982, instilling Christ-centered values, together with strong core academics, to develop high character leaders who influence their world.
With 18 different churches represented, we are a non-denominational, welcoming community offering an excellent education that meets the unique needs of all students. Our goal is to encourage Christian young people in the highest principles of Christian leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity and good citizenship.
The Academy is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Organization. ACSI is an educational organization serving Christian schools across the United States and around the world. ACSI is a full-service association designed to be a meaningful aid to the school’s educational ministry.
Statement of Faith
The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is 100% the Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. The Bible, in its original writing, is both inspired and inerrant.
In one God there are three distinct persons: The Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. They are all co-equal and co-eternal.
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life.
Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary’s womb; therefore He is the Son of God.
The Fall of Man
Man was originally created in the image of God. He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation and into a state of moral corruption and spiritual death. As a result, man is totally unable to please God. Every human being is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
The salvation of man is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justifies them in His sight. Receiving this gift of salvation includes the willingness to repent of sin (turn away from sinful lifestyles) and obey God.
The ongoing process of yielding to God in order to complete the development of Christ’s character in us.
The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary was sinless and is 100% sufficient to cleanse man of all sins. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for the sins we have committed, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death.
Jesus Christ Indwells All Believers
Christians are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them. They are putting their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His ascension, to empower the Church to fulfill its mission throughout the whole earth. We believe that the gift of speaking in tongues is frequently released when Christians are baptized in the Holy Spirit. This happens to bring edification to believers and to enhance their prayer lives.
Gifts of the Spirit
Every believer who is baptized with the Holy Spirit is given spiritual gifts to be used in ministry under Christ’s direction.
The Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers.
Healing of the Sick
Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also part of Jesus’ atonement on the cross.
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. One day, all believers in Christ will also be physically resurrected in their glorified bodies to their eternal reward in Heaven with God.
We believe that marriage is a creation of God, not men. He established it, the union of one biological man and one biological woman, to be a life-long covenant and to serve as the foundation of healthy families and societies.
Right to Life
We are committed to protecting and enhancing the quality of life of all persons from conception to natural death.
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to the earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
After living one life on earth, unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally separated from God.
