Mrs. Jennifer Henderson
6th, 7th, 8th Grade Teacher, 4th, 5th Grade – Math and Science
I am both excited and honored to be a part of the Pine Harbor Christian Academy team. I retired in 2014 from the United States Air Force after serving 26 years.
The Lord has been working in my heart over many years; He has provided opportunities for me to teach leadership development in the Air Force and nudged me to pursue full-time teaching. I have a heart for middle school students, yes, middle school students! I am also a volunteer with Young Life’s middle school and high school ministry here in Hastings. It has been such a great ministry for me to be a part of; watching how the Lord can change lives is exciting.
I am married to my husband Don and we have 2 children, Steven (19) and Savannah (16).
I am very excited to be able to teach math and science here at Pine Harbor Christian Academy. Math and science have always been my favorite school subjects. They have the potential to open the minds and hearts of students to an amazing world of exploration. While I understand not every student shares my love of these subjects, I am look forward to working with students to reach his or her full potential. I also enjoy repurposing the leadership development curriculum I taught to many of the up and coming leaders in the Air Force, to glorify the Lord and His up and coming leaders here at PHCA.

6th, 7th and 8th Grade – Big Ideas Math Curriculum. Students are required to do more than memorize how to solve problems. They will define skills and knowledge that young people need to succeed academically. Mastering the skills reflected in the Common Core and State Standards prepares students for college and career.
4th -8th Grade Science Curriculum here at Pine Harbor Christian Academy
Grades 4th-8th use Christian Schools International Science Curriculum. The relationship between science and the Bible has long been an emotionally charged issue. The study of science is one method of learning about God as He reveals Himself in creation. Science is important for studying direct causes and finite relations in the material world. It can explain how events occur, but it cannot explain why. For this reason, it is vital that scientific study be conducted in the light of biblical revelation; the Bible sets the facts obtained through scientific study in the correct context.
6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Bible Curriculum
LIghtbearers, a Summit Ministries Curriculum, is used in our Middle School. The goals for this curriculum are twofold. The first goal is defensive: to keep the students from being deceived by anti-Christian worldviews. The second goal is offensive: to train the students to actively live out the truth of Christianity in a culture of relativism and confusion.
